Objectives and Contents

Objectives: Teaching students the basic knowledge about matter and ideas and concepts for understanding chemical changes; Explaining the basic structure of atoms, ions and molecules; Explaining basic chemistry and thermochemistry concepts and principles; To provide the correlation between basic principles & concepts of chemistry and engineering with their applications. Each subject will be explained in detail according to the bachelor program.
Content: Introduction to Chemistry, Properties of the Matter and Their Measurement, Atoms and Atomic Theory, Chemical Compounds, Chemical Reactions, Introduction to Aqueous Solution Reactions, Acids and Bases, pH , Acid & Base Reactions, Reduction and Oxidation (RedOx) Reactions, Gases, Thermochemistry, Electrons in Atoms, Periodic Table and Some Atomic Properties, Chemical Bonding: Basic Concepts and Additional Aspects, Solutions and Their Physical Properties
