Manufacturing technicians are expected to understand that material production methods exist to meet human and industrial needs, and that the properties of manufactured materials can be modified. They are expected to be able to identify the types of materials used in industry, understand their basic properties, and select the most appropriate materials for their intended uses and design. They are also expected to be able to classify materials, understand their internal structures, interpret Fe-C equilibrium diagrams, and understand steel hardening and standards. |
