Objectives: |
This course aims to provide students with knowledge about the mechanical properties of materials by learning the basic concepts of deformable body mechanics, such as stress, deformation, and loss of strength of materials, and to gain the ability to design rods under axial force, shear, and simple bending conditions. |
Content: |
This course includes the topics of fundamental principles of strength, Hooke's law, types of deformation and ideal materials, calculation of cross-sectional shapes and cross-sectional areas of load-bearing elements, calculation of center of gravity, moment of strength, calculation of moment of inertia, radius of inertia, relationship between load and stress, calculation of cross-sectional areas of rods made of various materials under the effect of tensile force, calculation of cross-sectional areas of rods made of various materials under the effect of compressive force, calculation of shear force and strength, theory of uniaxial bending, relationship between bending and stress, calculation of cross-sectional areas of rods under the effect of simple bending. |
