Objectives and Contents

Objectives: It is aimed for tourist guide students to become acquainted with the science of archaeology, to learn professional terminology, and to know the development process and present day of Anatolian archaeology.
Content: The development of the world and the course of human history, prehistoric times, and the development of archaeology. What is archaeology?: Definition, purpose, and boundaries of archaeology; Relationship of archaeology with other sciences. A review of Anatolian archaeology: Early research, archaeological studies up to the present day. The scope of this article covers the emergence of archaeology, its historical development, and archaeology in Turkey. This article covers archaeological research areas in Anatolia, archaeological discoveries worldwide, and methods for deciphering ancient inscriptions, excavations, and excavation types. Essentials of archaeological research: Evaluation of ancient sources, archaeological, epigraphic, and numismatic documents.
