Objectives and Contents

Objectives: The aim of this course is to examine international maritime law and basic concepts of maritime commercial law, national and international waters; To introduce the legal responsibilities of the carrier, shipper and ship's captain, the legal nature of the ship, national and international organizations in maritime.
Content: On the historical development of maritime law, territorial seas and adjacent territory, borders of territorial seas, right of transit, obligations of ships during transit, concept of harmless passage, archipelago states and archipelago baselines, concept of exclusive economic zone, concept of continental shelf and continental shelf It includes the rights of the coastal state, the concept of the high seas, the freedom of the high seas, the legal status of the ships, the obligations of the flag state, the criminal jurisdiction in all cases of collision and maritime navigation, the obligation to assist, the definition of piracy, and the right to visit.
