Purpose of this department is to educate the graduates; who can determine the movement and functional disorders, who have skills with competence to apply preventive and therapeutic approaches, who take into consideration of benefits of community, who can plan a multidisciplinary approach or compatible to teamwork, who can use information technologies or scientific research methods effectively and who can generate evidence-based practices.
Students who are admitted to the department are successfully complete the at least worth of 240 ECTS of courses who are completion program meets the qualification.
Physiotherapists who have graduated from this program can work as health care professionals and if they want to advance their careers with academic studies at a higher level is possible.
As a result of the Covid-19 pandemic in the world, people have gone through an inactive period, and many individuals who have had the disease have had permanent damage, especially to the respiratory system and musculoskeletal system. According to the data of the World Health Organization, our world is getting older with the rapid increase in the elderly population and attention should be paid to the issue of healthy aging. In addition to these, the need for physiotherapy and rehabilitation has increased and has become a necessity today, as a result of the fact that business life pushes adults to a sedentary life during the Industry 5.0 period, and as a result of the decrease in physical activity and obesity in children as technology develops. Subjects such as musculoskeletal system problems, cardiopulmonary system diseases, obesity and diabetes are important, current, and developing issues in the physiotherapy and rehabilitation department for healthy aging. There is a need for scientific research in all areas of physiotherapy and rehabilitation, especially on these issues, and physiotherapists who will treat patients in clinics.

Graduates of the Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation can provide clinical services in medical centers and various departments of university, public, and private hospitals, such as orthopedics, neurology, cardiology, rheumatology, and intensive care. In addition, they find employment opportunities in private physical therapy centers, prosthesis-orthosis units, and special education institutions focusing on pediatric rehabilitation. They can work on athlete health in sports clubs and national teams, as well as provide preventive and health-promoting physiotherapy services in wellness centers, spa/cure centers, and community health centers. Furthermore, they can serve in nursing homes for geriatric rehabilitation, home care services, and industrial organizations within ergonomics and occupational health units, or pursue an academic career in universities to contribute to education and research activities.
