OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: To give students the understanding of Total Quality Management (TQM) and teach them to implement it in a company.
Contents of the Course Unit: Competition and quality concepts, history of quality, quality gurus, philosophy and principles of TQM, quality culture in companies, and responsibilities in activities, continuous improvement (kaizen), Quality costs, suppliers in TQM, EFQM excellence model, self-assessment, TS-EN-ISO 9000:2008 Quality Management Systems.

Students will be able to interpret basic quality concepts, the development of qualifications, dimensions and elements, and define the quality of the business that they are working with.
Students will be able to interpret quality masters and their contributions to quality and discuss their teachings.
Students will be able to classify and apply the principles of Total Quality Management.
Students will be able to define the quality responsibilities of departments in the organization.
Students will be able to apply Total Quality Management according to the application steps.
Students will be able to calculate the quality cost.
Students will be able to calculate the EFQM Excellence Model and Self-Assessment.
