OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: The aim of this course is to introduce students to the concepts of translation studies and to inform them about the developments in the translation sector and translation fields.
Contents of the Course Unit: The content of this course includes types of translation - intralingual, interlingual and intersemiotic translation, types of written translation, translation of audiovisual texts, translation strategies, translation technologies, types of interpreting, quality standards in translation, translation in the EU, legal position of translators and translator organisations, translation education, copyrights in literary translation, translation ethics.
