OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: Aim to provide knowledge and skills about protection of elderly health, development, early diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation services.
Contents of the Course Unit: İnformation related to improving the geriatric health, preventing acut and chronic health problems in elderly, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation.

KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT (On successful completion of this course unit, students/learners will or will be able to)

Define biopsychoscoial changes occurring in elderly.
Evaluate the health of elderly individuals.
Care plan the elderly individual’s nursing care according to nursing process.
Take precautions protecting and improving the health of elderly individuals.
Define institutions serving the elderly.
