OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: Aim to give modern task, roles and responsibilities of endoscopy nurses and basic information about endoscopy.
Contents of the Course Unit: İnclude basic concepts and principles related to endoscopy and endoscopy nursing.

Explain the basic concepts of endoscopy and endoscopy nursing.
Define the indications, contraindications and complications of the endoscopy.
Recognize the instruments that are used in endoscopy.
Explain the rules of the cleaning and disinfection endoscopes and other equipments.
Understand the importance of conscious sedation.
Understand the importance of conscious sedation.
List the discharge criteria of patient.
Create a safe environment for patients and staff.
Apply the nursing process before, during and after endoscopy.
