OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: This course aims to raise the competence of students to express themselves by taking into consideration the principle of discussion in the framework of democracy and free thinking, based on tolerance. Therefore; it aims to teach how to develop an argument, to improve the arguing and confuting skills, and thesis and anti-thesis contradiction.
Contents of the Course Unit: Contents of the course include the subjects such as creating arguments based on knowledge and research in order to keep the structure of the ideas that need to be defended, defending these arguments by supporting them with communication skills, confuting the possible confutations against the defence.

Discuss which arguments will be used for debating.
Analyze the propositions to be used in their arguments.
Defend the basic argument formed by the arguments.
Persuade the target audience by using communication skills.
