Objectives: |
The aim of this course is to introduce students to the basic concepts of interior design discipline and to develop their spatial thinking and conceptual awareness skills. It is aimed to enable students to comprehend the physical, psychological, cultural and social dimensions of space and to develop a critical perspective within the framework of basic concepts such as space perception, function, form, scale, proportion, movement, space, time, light. In this context, it is aimed to create a conceptual and theoretical infrastructure for the design process. |

Introduction to the concept of space; the meaning of space in historical and theoretical framework; components of interior space; defining and discussing basic concepts such as form, function, proportion, scale, space, time and movement; the relationship of space with the user; perception, experience and representation of space; the meaning of space in cultural context; theories of space. |
