Objectives and Contents

Objectives: The aim is for students to recognize building typologies, analyze the fundamental spaces within these structures according to their functions, and understand and interpret the building-space relationship in accordance with planning principles. This course aims to help students understand the concepts of space and structure; recognize building typologies; comprehend the physical, functional, and social factors that influence building planning; analyze spaces in different building types from a functional perspective; and apply basic planning and spatial organization principles through examples.
Content: The course content covers the concept of space and its components, the concept of structure and building, fundamental factors affecting building planning and design, functional analyses, buildings according to their typology, classification, design, planning, and principles of spatial organization.
