Objectives and Contents

Objectives: The fundamental principles of podology include teaching medical diagnoses and treatment plans, following medical instructions and collaborating with physicians, and the use and cleaning of tools used in foot care.
Content: Podology encompasses podological practices aimed at assessing, protecting, and improving an individual's foot health. This includes taking a medical history and obtaining informed consent, conducting a podological assessment, and developing an appropriate care plan. Podiatric approaches to skin and nail problems are applied using scalpels and auxiliary techniques. Pressure and friction protection methods are supported by tampon and taping applications. Equipment and dermocosmetic products used in the procedures are used correctly and safely. All procedures are performed in accordance with podological procedure steps and hygiene rules.
