Objectives and Contents

Objectives: The aim is to provide podological care approaches for the protection and improvement of foot health in diabetic and geriatric individuals, and to develop safe and professional application skills in podological practices in accordance with infection control, sterilization, legal responsibilities, ethics, and communication principles.
Content: This course covers the pathophysiology, assessment, and infection management of diabetic foot, as well as podological care in diabetic and geriatric individuals. Podological approaches to nail diseases and specific bandaging applications are taught. The decoration of podological treatment areas, sterilization and disinfection principles, and legal responsibilities are examined. Communication and ethical principles in podology are discussed theoretically and practically. Practical exams are conducted throughout the course.
