Objectives: |
For Aeronautical Engineering Program Master's students
* To give information about the practical use and importance of airfoils and the structure of the flow field around the airfoil in different flow regimes,
* To teach analysis methods with the potential flow approach and boundary layer approach for airfoils at low speed and high Re numbers, and to give information about combining techniques of potential flow and boundary layer solutions.
* To give information about the design methods for airfoils and to teach design with the panel method.
* Providing information about wind tunnel wall effects and calculation |

Introduction to airfoils, their history. Flow field around an airfoil. Analysis methods for airfoils. Conform transformation methods, Analytical arfoils. Panel methods. Boundary layer calculation. Potential flow / viscous flow coupling methods. Design methods. Two-dimensional experimental problems |
