Objectives and Contents

Objectives: The aim of the course is to enable students to comprehend the social, cultural, political and economic developments that set the ground for the formation of Turkish literature in the Servet-i Fünûn period and to get to know the leading representatives and works of Turkish literature in the modernization period. In addition to these, it is among the objectives of the course that the students learn the development processes of different literary genres that were transferred to Turkish literature during the Servet-i Fünûn period, the movements and schools of Turkish Literature in the Modernization Period, and the method issues in text analysis.
Content: The course includes a) prominent representatives and works of Turkish literature in the Servet-i Fünûn period, b) Western-origin literary movements influencing Turkish literature during the Servet-i Fünûn period and the development processes of these movements, c) literary text analysis.
