Objectives and Contents

Objectives: The objective of this course is to provide students with an understanding of the fundamental concepts and functions of logistics and supply chain management, as well as their strategic importance to businesses. Students will learn core processes such as transportation, warehousing, inventory management, order processing, distribution, and logistics information systems, while also examining global supply chains, digital logistics applications, and sustainable transportation approaches. This will prepare students to become qualified professionals who understand both national and international logistics operations, possess problem-solving and process improvement skills, and develop logistics solutions that can provide competitive advantage.
Content: This course covers the fundamental concepts and processes of logistics and supply chain management, as well as their strategic importance to businesses. Content includes the definition, scope, and historical development of logistics, supply chain management, transportation types and modes, warehouse and inventory management, order processing, distribution systems, and customer service. The course also focuses on logistics information systems, digitalization and e-logistics applications, green logistics, and sustainable transportation approaches. Through case studies and practical exercises, students acquire the skills to evaluate logistics processes, balance cost, speed, and service, and develop effective logistics solutions in the face of global competition.
