This course covers fundamental concepts of fluid mechanics, fluid properties, fluid statics, Bernoulli, Energy and Momentum Equations (Bernoulli's equation, static, dynamic, and stagnation pressures, applications of the Bernoulli equation, work and energy equation, energy equation for flows), Real Fluid Flows (Laminar and turbulent flow, flows in contact with solid surfaces, fundamentals of boundary layers, shear stress, and head loss). Pipe Flows (Basic equations, laminar flow, turbulent flow, friction factor in pipes, Moody chart, local losses in pipes, pipe problems, pipe problem applications). |
