Objectives and Contents

Objectives: In today's world, data is one of the most important and vital corporate assets. Database management is one of the main topics of information technology strategy and information resource management. Based on these reasons, the aim of the course is to equip students with the most up-to-date knowledge and skills in analysis, design and application areas.
Content: Data modeling and logical design of databases in the course; data description, processing and control languages; physical design of databases; Programming with SQL; data access standards; transaction management and client-server systems are discussed. In the field of database management, some advanced topics such as object oriented databases, distributed databases and data warehouses are also mentioned.
