| Objectives: |
This 12-week course introduces students to the principles, practices, and technologies of
contemporary technical translation. It develops students’ competence in terminology
management, technical genres, specialized translation, CAT tools, machine translation and
post-editing, quality assurance, and localization. Through practical translation tasks,
terminology research, technology-supported activities, and reflective practice, students
progressively develop the knowledge and skills required for professional technical
translation. |

Students will be able to define technical translation and distinguish it from general
translation, identify the linguistic, terminological, stylistic, and functional characteristics of
technical texts, apply appropriate strategies for technical style, terminology, and accuracy.
And integrate translation, terminology, technology, QA, and reflective practice into a
professional translation portfolio. |
