AMAÇ VE İÇERİK

Amaç: This course aims to explore the ways through which the issue of identity is constructed in a motion picture. Students will be introduced some basic concepts and issues in the study of the film and representation of identity along with an introduction to selected cinematic movements; thus it is aimed to develop an understanding of film analysis and diversity of ethnicity.
İçerik: This course is designed to look at how cultural identities are being expressed and negotiated through films, so it covers the most influential film movement of the time period, representation of ideology, power and identity in film art along with the writings and manifestos by Latin American artists/ filmmakers that specifically deal with questions related to cinema and its connection to culture and politics in any society and how racism, colonialism and imperialism find articulation.

explain the major movements in world cinema.
