OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: The objective of the course is to provide the students with the skills to apply basic techniques specific to Fencing.
Contents of the Course Unit: Contents of the course include; General information about the fencing, fencing competition rules, characteristics of the Epee and the Foil branch, characteristics of the Sword branch, sword use techniques, common and separated aspects of three different weapon types, concentration aesthetic reflex, balance techniques, defense techniques, angard stance, batinando techniques, weapon holding positions, response, trenching, evacuation, capture and expulsion techniques, armed distance and contraparad techniques.

Define basic concepts related with Fencing.
Explain the historical development of Fencing.
Describe and apply the Fencing competition rules.
