OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS |

Objectives of the Course Unit: | This course aims to provide students with basic knowledge and skills about the basic concepts and different approaches of political economy by establishing a relationship between media, politics, society and culture. |
Contents of the Course Unit: | Contents of the course include the historical basis of the political economy, the specific contributions of this approach to the media, communication and society, various forms of use through existing research based on this approach. |

Evaluate the approach of political economy on culture industries in the world by defining the importance, subject and method of political economy. |
Discuss media content in the context of economy, politics and cultural dynamics. |

Analyze the media policies showing tendencies of monopolization by considering the ownership problem in media. |
