Objectives and Contents

Objectives: This course aims to teach students the working principles of critical components of gas turbine engines such as turbine section, exhaust system, bearings, seals, lubricants and fuels. It also aims to provide information on maintenance, repair and performance evaluation of these components.
Content: This course is designed to provide licensed aircraft maintenance technicians with the basic technical knowledge of advanced systems and components of gas turbine engines. The content is structured based on EASA Part-66 Module 15 in accordance with the SHT-66 Instruction published by DGCA and EASA Part-145 maintenance practices. The course covers turbine section, exhaust system, bearings, gaskets, oil and fuel systems, engine control, instrumentation, starting and ignition systems at technical level. Auxiliary power units (APU), engine installation on the airplane, fire protection systems, engine monitoring methods and storage and preservation procedures are also covered.
