| Objectives: | This course aims to develop students' basic reading and writing skills, enabling them to comprehend, interpret, and use basic critical reading strategies, as well as produce coherent and meaningful texts at the paragraph and short essay level. |
| Content: | The course covers basic reading strategies (previewing, identifying main ideas, making inferences), paragraph structure, topic sentences, supporting sentences, transitional words, and fundamental writing processes (drafting, editing, revising). Students produce core writing types such as summarizing, paraphrasing, comparison, and cause-and-effect essays. |
