Objectives and Contents

Objectives: This course aims to teach the students how social anthropology is a science, study area, basic principles, approaches and methods, and to understand the different cultures and to respect these different cultures by adopting the culture extreme approach of anthropology.
Content: Contents of the course include the emergence of the science of anthropology, the relationship between anthropology and other social sciences, theories of social anthropology, anthropological methods and techniques, consideration of the basic concepts such as culture, language and communication, social identity, personality and gender, family and household, kinship and lineage, age and common interest groups in regard to the social and cultural perspective and comparison of them with each other.
