Objectives and Contents

Objectives: The objective of the course is to provide the students with the knowledge and skills to compare and analyze the developments and events in the olympic games in chronological order, the organization and operation of the olympic games in the ancient civilizations and the modern olympic games.
Content: Contents of the course include; Basic concepts of philosophy, Examination of sport in a philosophical context, Movement-Game philosophy and contest, Competition, Solidarity, Sports as a problem of Winning and Losing, Historical development of Olympism and teaching of Olympic values.
