AMAÇ VE İÇERİK

Amaç: This course aims to provide comprehensive knowledge of the components, systems, and applications of gas turbine engines. Students will gain an understanding of the engine's air, ignition, indicator, and power augmentation systems, as well as the structure and operating principles of turboshaft and turbo-prop engines, thereby grasping the maintenance and repair processes.
İçerik: This course covers key components of the engine, including air systems, starting and ignition systems, engine indicators, and power augmentation systems. The operation of air distribution, cooling, and anti-icing control systems is detailed. Additionally, the functioning of the starting and ignition systems, along with maintenance safety concerns, are addressed. Engine indicators, including parameters such as oil pressure, temperature measurements, vibration, and torque, are discussed in terms of monitoring. The structures of turbo-prop and turboshaft engines are also part of the course content. This course enables students to effectively work in maintenance and repair by understanding the various systems of gas turbine engines.

DERSİN ÖĞRENME ÇIKTILARI (Öğrenciler, bu dersi başarı ile tamamladıklarında aşağıda belirtilen bilgi, beceri ve/veya yetkinlikleri gösterirler.)

The operation of engine air distribution and anti-icing control systems, including internal cooling, sealing, and external air servicing, will be understood.
The student will interpret the functioning of engine instrumentation systems, including monitoring parameters such as exhaust gas temperature, engine thrust, oil pressure, fuel flow, engine speed, vibration, torque, and power.
The student will understand the structure and operation of turbo-prop engines, including the distinction between gas-coupled and gear-coupled turbines, reduction gears, integrated engine and propeller control systems, and over-speed protection devices.
The student will comprehend the adjustments, drive systems, reduction gear assemblies, couplings, and control systems of turbo-shaft engines.
