OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: This course aims to enable students to have a comprehensive knowledge of the cinema industry's operation, economic structure, marketing process and financial structure, and to have an idea about the contribution to other sectors and economy.
Contents of the Course Unit: Contents of the course include the financing of cinema and the ways in the distribution process. The paths followed in the period from project development to financing, from financing to marketing and demonstration will be discussed. The common and differentiating aspects of the domestic and foreign sectors will be presented with examples.

Define the basic elements of film industry.
Explain the differences between domestic film industry, foreign film industry and low budget films.
Compare the effects of successful and unsuccessful distribution on the audience.
Tell the theories relating to correct determination of finance, distribution and marketing.
Relate between cinema as an art and cinema as an industry.
