OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: The aim is to enable Radiotherapy Technicians to gain knowledge about health and disease, cancer, oncological treatment, organ functions and roles, and methods used in cancer diagnosis.
Contents of the Course Unit: The purpose of radiotherapy courses includes the following topics: History of Radiotherapy, Definitions in Daily Radiotherapy Practice, Clinical Applications in Radiotherapy, Radiophysics and Radiotherapy Treatment Devices, and Target Volume Definitions in Treatment.

It describes natural radiation sources and X-ray production (X-ray tube, linear accelerator), and evaluates the applications of radiation in medicine.
It describes the methods used in cancer treatment.
It describes the effect of radiation on the tumor.
Recognizes radiation measurement systems and radiation dose units.
Defines the measurement phantoms.
Describes radiotherapy devices.
