OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: Objective: The aim is to introduce fundamental physics concepts and to develop skills in formulating specific physical quantities involving mechanical phenomena and in problem-solving.
Contents of the Course Unit: Content: The course covers the following topics: Measurement and physical quantities, Determination of vectors using graphical and analytical methods, Statics (Equilibrium, moment, center of mass), Mechanics, Dynamics, Work-Energy-Power, and Fluids.

KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT (On successful completion of this course unit, students/learners will or will be able to)

Solves problems related to one- and two-dimensional motion.
Defines the concepts of work, work-energy, and energy conservation, and uses them to describe the translational motion of objects in a system.
Explains the concepts of linear momentum and angular momentum.
Describes the motion of objects rotating around a specific axis.
Defines wave motion and solves its equations.
Explains the concepts of particle, displacement, velocity, and acceleration.
Understands Newton's laws of motion and how to use them.
Defines pressure and buoyancy in fluids.
Explains the principle of continuity, Bernoulli's principle, and Pascal's principle.
