| Objectives of the Course Unit: | Objective: The objective of the Optical Instruments and Materials course is to provide students with comprehensive knowledge and skills regarding optical devices, equipment, and materials. |
| Contents of the Course Unit: | Content: Technical terms and definitions, basic elements of optical instruments, fundamental characteristics of optical instruments, the principle of a lensometer (focometer), definition and types of focometers. Images of lenses in a focometer, determination of the dioptric power of lenses, pupillameter, magnifiers, binoculars, microscopes, telescopes, cameras, ophthalmic optical instruments, eye complaints and symptomatology of eye diseases, optical instruments for low vision, eye examination, routine eye examination and optical instruments and their principles used in eye examination with auxiliary tools and methods, ophthalmoscopes, retinoscopes, fundus cameras, refractometers, tonometers, slit lamps and types of surgical microscopes, photographic darkeners, and similar topics constitute the content of this course. |
