OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS |

Objectives of the Course Unit: | It's aimed to gain knowledge, skills, and attitudes related to planning, implementing, and monitoring disease-specific medical nutrition therapy for acute and chronic diseases observed in infants and children, while taking into account individual, cultural, and socioeconomic differences, along with the etiology, clinical symptoms, and complications of these diseases. |
Contents of the Course Unit: | Etiology, diagnosis, and treatment methods of diseases, growth monitoring, clinical case follow-up, management of anorexic children, childhood obesity, metabolic syndrome, Type 1 diabetes, Type 2 diabetes, kidney, liver, and pancreatic diseases, eating disorders, food allergies, attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder, and medical nutrition therapy in neurological diseases. |

Identifies the causes of obesity and metabolic syndrome and follows medical nutrition principles when creating a nutritional program. |
Follows medical nutrition principles when creating a nutritional program for Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes in children. |
Follows medical nutrition principles when creating a nutritional program for kidney diseases. |
