OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: The aim of this course is to provide students with knowledge and skills in the management and evaluation of cases with speech, language, voice and swallowing disorders and in the formulation of individualised therapy plans. The course aims to teach appropriate report writing techniques for evidence-based therapy applications and guidance of cases by determining ethical boundaries in the clinic.
Contents of the Course Unit: The course focuses on informing about in-clinic rules, practices and ethical boundaries, management and evaluation of cases with speech, language, voice and swallowing disorders and preparation of individual-specific therapy plans. It is aimed to teach the report writing techniques necessary for the guidance of cases in evidence-based therapy applications appropriate to the cases.

Explain the ethical boundaries in the clinic.
Explains the order and practices in the clinic.
Explains the case management process with its stages.
Informs the family during assessment.
Informs the family during and at the end of therapy.
Writes evaluation, result or referral reports about the case.
Prepares the therapy plan for all individuals with speech and language therapy disorders.
Communicates with other specialists of the managed case and works multidisciplinary.
