OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS |

Objectives of the Course Unit: | The aim is to provide knowledge and skills related to the assessment, planning, and implementation of physiotherapy approaches in the acute and chronic phases of neurological diseases affecting the central and peripheral nervous systems. This includes pediatric areas from birth to eighteen years, particularly focusing on Cerebral Palsy (CP) and Pediatric Neuromuscular diseases. The physiotherapist's role is emphasized in pediatrics, cardiovascular and pulmonary units, intensive care, geriatrics, and oncology rehabilitation. |
Contents of the Course Unit: | Fundamental level applications related to physiotherapy and rehabilitation for neurological diseases followed on an outpatient and/or inpatient basis. Clinical studies on basic level approaches to physiotherapy and rehabilitation for individuals with cerebral palsy and pediatric neuromuscular diseases. Basic level rehabilitation approaches for intensive care patients. Preparation of physical activity programs for cancer prevention in healthy individuals, as well as practical application of specific assessment and treatment approaches for physiotherapy and rehabilitation in adult and pediatric cancer patients. Evaluates the results of measurement and evaluation methods in accordance with the case in neurological diseases affecting the central and peripheral nervous system. |
Implements a basic neurological physiotherapy and rehabilitation program with short and long-term goals. |
In the field of neurological physiotherapy and rehabilitation, group work applies interdisciplinary working principles. |
Evaluates the problems of the case at the level of impairment, activity, and participation with the data obtained through evaluations and observations specific to the field of pediatric physiotherapy and rehabilitation. |
Applies physiotherapy and rehabilitation approaches in patients with cardiovascular problems. |
Evaluates the results of measurement and evaluation methods in accordance with the case for Geriatric Rehabilitation. |
Applies the principles of the geriatric unit and nursing homes. |
It perfects the skills of planning and implementing physiotherapy rehabilitation programs in the rehabilitation unit in oncology. |
