OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: It is aimed to provide information and attitudes about the methods used in evaluating the hearing situations of babies and children.
Contents of the Course Unit: General characteristics of infancy and childhood diseases, pathophysiology, special audiological test methods used in this period, information about the general characteristics of electrophysiological test methods used, causes of hearing loss in infants and children, diagnosis and follow-up after diagnosis.

Interprets the type and degree of hearing loss using audiological equipment.
Performs behavioral audiological test methods.
Interprets the behavioral audiological test methods.
Interprets speech audiometry, pure tone test and acoustic immitansmetry.
Performs acoustic immitansmetry and acoustic reflex tests.
Interprets the results of acoustic immitansmetry and acoustic reflex tests.
Describes the causes of hearing loss.
Describes the basic evaluation criteria used in infants and children.
Describes hearing screening programs.
Describes the rehabilitation process according to the degree of hearing loss.
Describes the terms used in infants and children.
