OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: It is aimed to gain knowledge, skills/behaviors and attitudes about the basic features of speech and language skills in children with normal development.
Contents of the Course Unit: Characteristics of language and speech development of normally developing child, meaning, phonology, morphology and structural features of language and ideal environments where children can acquire language

Describes the concepts of communication, language and speech.
Tells theories of language development.
Describes the stages of speech and language development in typical development.
Defines the effects of hearing loss on speech and language development.

Performs the training for language and speech development in hearing-impaired children.
Describes the meaning, phonology, morphology and structural features of language.
Chooses the ideal environments in which children can acquire language.
