Objectives of the Course Unit: |
The aim of this course is to gain knowledge about Circulatory and Respiratory Biophysics. |
Contents of the Course Unit: |
Physical properties and viscosity of blood, Pressure, flow and resistance in vessels, Velocity and flow in internal friction flow, Pressure, flow and resistance in vessels, Poiselli's law, Laminar and Turbulan currents, Resistance in series and parallel connected vessel systems, Laplace's law, Electromagnetic and Ultrasonic Doppler Flowmeters, Pressure-potential energy-heat energy relationship, Bernouilli's law, Calculation of pressure in arteries and veins, Respiratory system and function, Respiratory gas laws, Lung and chest compliance, Resistance factor in respiration, Solubility of blood gases and gas between alveoli and blood exchange capacities, Functional residual capacity determination |
