OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: It is aimed to gain knowledge and skills about perfusion applications and theoretical knowledge in congenital and pediatric diseases.
Contents of the Course Unit: Brief history of pediatric and congenital heart surgery, mini-cardiopulmonary bypass circuits, open and closed systems, anesthesia in pediatric and congenital heart surgery, anticoagulation and neutralization in pediatric and congenital heart surgery, perfusion in pediatric heart transplantation, pregnancy and cardiopulmonary bypass, pediatric perfusion in patients with congenital heart, prime solutions, cardioplegia types and cardioplegia delivery techniques, internal and external cooling and heating methods in extracorporeal circulation, stem cell applications in cardiovascular surgery
