OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: It explains the fundamental concepts of Turkish Law of Obligations, debt relationships, and sources of debt (legal transactions, torts, and unjust enrichment).
Contents of the Course Unit: Subject Matter and Fundamental Concepts of the Law of Obligations, Contracts, Sources of Obligations, Formation of Contracts, Conditions for the Validity of Contracts, Nullity of Contracts, Modification of Contracts, Performance, Types of Performance, Representation, Types of Representation, Default of the Creditor and Debtor, Torts, Conditions of Tort, Grounds for Legality, Concept and Types of Damage, Causation and Fault, Unjust Enrichment, Circumstances Terminating the Debt.

KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT (On successful completion of this course unit, students/learners will or will be able to)

Defines the basic concepts related to debt relationships.
It analyzes the stages of establishing contracts and the obligations that this contract imposes on the parties.
Understands the principles governing contracts, comprehends the formation of contracts, and distinguishes between types of contracts.
Evaluates the reasons for the termination of debts and the consequences of default in a specific case.
It reaches fundamental solutions in specific cases by considering the conditions of tort and unjust enrichment.
