OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS
Objectives of the Course Unit:	Dersin amacı, öğrencilerin sosyolojik bakış açısı edinerek, temel sosyolojik kavramları hatırlaması ve açıklaması, sosyolojik olguları değişim süreci içinde hem kurum olarak hem de etkileşim ağı olarak ayırd edebilmesi ve bunun yanında küresel dünyadaki anlam, örüntü ve süreçleri sosyolojik bilgiyi kullanarak yorumlaması, sosyolojik bilginin üretilmesinde yöntem ve araştırmanın işlevini açıklaması amaçlanmaktadır.
Contents of the Course Unit:	Dersin içeriğini; sosyolojinin bilim olarak doğuşu, gelişimi ve küresel çağda sosyolojinin işlevi, sosyolojik araştırma yöntemleri, toplumsal gruplar ve formel örgütler, kültür ve sosyalleşme, sosyal statü ve sosyal roller, toplumsal tabakalaşma ve sosyal sınıflar, siyaset, aile ve toplumsal cinsiyet, ekonomik yaşam, toplumsal sapma ve suç ilgili temel kavramlar, modernleşme ve küreselleşme tarihsel-kültürel bağlamı içinde ele alınması oluşturmaktadır.

Bir bilim olarak sosyolojinin kurucularını ve belli başlı eserlerini bilir.
Sosyolojik kavramları tanımlar, kavramların küresel sosyal dünyadaki olgusal karşılıkları bularak örneklendirir.
Sosyolojinin temel kavramlarını gündelik hayatla ilişkilendirir.
Kültürün temel bileşenleriyle toplumsal düzen arasında bağlantı kurar.
Kültür merkezcilik, yabancı kültür hayranlığı ve kültürel görelilik yaklaşımlarını nesnellik ilkesine göre değerlendirir.
Hem kurum hem de sosyal etkileşim ağı olarak aile, siyaset ve ekonomi ile ilgili temel bilgileri hatırlar (remember - 1), bu olgular ile ilgili süreçleri küresel dünyadan somut örneklerle açıklar.
Hangi araştırmalarda hangi yöntemlerin kullanılması gerektiğini fark eder.
