Objectives of the Course Unit: | The aim of this course is to examine the word types, derivational and inflectional affixes, verb structures, and their grammatical functions in Turkish. It aims to enable students to classify word types, analyze the functions of affixes, and explain verb structures with detailed examples. Additionally, the course seeks to help students develop competence in understanding the morphological structure of Turkish and conducting grammatical analyses. |
Contents of the Course Unit: | Word Types: Characteristics and functions of nouns, adjectives, pronouns, adverbs, prepositions, conjunctions, interjections, and verbs. Derivational Affixes: Noun-to-noun, noun-to-verb, verb-to-verb, and verb-to-noun affixes; their functions and examples. Inflectional Affixes: Noun inflectional affixes (case, possessive, plural, and relative suffixes) and verb inflectional affixes (tense, aspect, mood, and person markers) with their grammatical roles. Verb Structures: Simple, derived, compound, and auxiliary verb structures; verbals (gerunds, participles, and converbs) and their syntactic functions. Practical Applications: Analysis of selected texts to identify word types, affix types, and verb structures. |
