OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: The aim of this course is to enable students to acquire the knowledge, skills, and competence to explain the fundamental concepts of research; analyze the relationships between science and research, and theory and research; analyze transformations in scientific research methods and their outcomes; produce scientific knowledge by applying the processes of scientific knowledge production while observing ethical principles; and share this knowledge with target audiences.
Contents of the Course Unit: This course covers the basic concepts of research, the relationship between science and research, the relationship between theory and research, transformations in scientific research methods, scientific research methods, literature review, research design, sampling techniques, data analysis, academic writing, referencing, and issues related to research and ethics.

Explains the fundamental concepts of research. Establishes the relationship between science, research, and theory. Analyzes a scientific research design and carries out the research design. Acquires the knowledge, skills, and competence to conduct research by following the processes of scientific knowledge production. Shares the scientific knowledge produced with the target audience. Evaluates knowledge produced in their own field in terms of its compliance with scientific knowledge production processes, explains its scholarly value, and develops the skills and competence to use research findings of high scholarly value in their work.
