OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS
Objectives of the Course Unit:	Dersin amacı; öğrencilere istatistiğin temel kavramları hakkında bilgi vererek, temel istatistiksel ölçütler konusunda bilgilendirmek, olasılık teorisi, endeksler ve temel olasılık bölünmelerinin uygun problemlere uygulanmalarını sağlamaktır.
Contents of the Course Unit:	Dersin içeriği, genelde istatistik, geçmişi ve içinde bulunulan durumu tanımlayarak özet bilgiler ve grafikler ortaya koyduğunda betimsel adını alır. Tablolar veya grafikler yardımı ile verilerin özetlenmesi ve çok sayıda sayıdan oluşan bir veri grubunun ortalamalar gibi tek bir sayıya indirgenmesi yine bu alan için geçerlidir. Kısaca “betimsel istatistik” bir veri kümesinde bulunan bilgiyi sayısal ve grafiksel yöntemleri kullanarak özetler ve sunar.
