OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: The aim of the course is to provide students with the ability to analyze the general dynamics of the functioning of European integration by providing information about integration theories in a way that will enable them to grasp the aims, strategies and tendencies of the European Union in order to understand the progress of European integration. In this context, the course aims to convey the knowledge of the ideological, historical, political and legal foundations of European integration to the student on a conceptual and theoretical basis.
Contents of the Course Unit: The content of the course covers integration theories such as federalism, functionalism, neofunctionalism, intergovernmentalism, institutionalism and multi-level governance, the relationship of these theories with the ideological, historical, political and legal dimensions of European integration, the contents of the agreements between EU members within the scope of the deepening processes of European integration, the history of the expansion of European integration, the institutions of the European Union, the main policy areas of the European Union, Turkey-European Union relations, the future of the European Union's enlargement policy and the current problems faced by the European Union.
