OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS
Objectives of the Course Unit:	This course aims to introduce students to the fundamental principles and practices of the localization process and to provide them with the knowledge and skills required for the planning, execution, and management of translation projects.
Contents of the Course Unit:	The concept of localization and its place in the translation industry; types of localization (software, website, game, and multimedia localization); fundamental principles of project management; the project life cycle (planning, execution, monitoring, and closure); time and budget management; quality assurance processes; CAT tools and localization software (SDL Trados, memoQ, Smartcat, etc.); terminology and style guide management; coordination of multilingual project teams; client relationship management; industry-standard project management platforms (Jira, Trello, Asana, etc.); applied project simulations based on real-world case studies.

KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT (On successful completion of this course unit, students/learners will or will be able to)
Define the concept of localization, its types, and the fundamental principles and processes of project management.
Apply the basic stages of a localization project using CAT tools and localization software (SDL Trados, memoQ, Smartcat, etc.).
Analyze the scope, timeline, and budget of a translation/localization project to identify potential risks and resource requirements.
Evaluate the quality assurance processes and team performance of a project managed through project management platforms (Jira, Trello, Asana, etc.).
Design an end-to-end localization project plan that coordinates a multilingual project team, based on real-world case studies.
