OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: The objective of the course to provide students to gain the knowledge to discuss the understanding and functions of free time and sports within different social structures.
Contents of the Course Unit: The content of the course includes; definitions and concepts related to sociology, Sociological theories, Historical development of sociology and sports sociology, Historical development of sociology and free time, Sport sociology within the framework of basic sociology theories, Sport, free time and social institutions, Sport, free time and social institutions, Socialization, social change and stratification, Sports, leisure and media relations, Social class and sports, Gender and sports, Examining examples of articles written about sport sociology, covers free time in different societies.

Defines the basic concepts of leisure time and sociology.
Explain the effects of media on leisure and sports
Associates the basic concepts of sociology with sports sociology and leisure time.
