OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: The objective of the course is to help students gain the knowledge and ability to apply the tests used to evaluate the motor development in order to explain the psychomotor development periods and characteristics, and to recognize the neuromuscular coordination disorders that may occur during psycho-motor development.
Contents of the Course Unit: Contents of the course include; Principles of motor development, factors affecting motor development, tests used to evaluate motor development, psychomotor development periods, gender differences in development and developmental disorders.

KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT (On successful completion of this course unit, students/learners will or will be able to)

Describe the basic concepts related with Psychomotor development.
Explain factors that affect motor development.
Explain the developmental periods and their characteristics.
Apply the tests used to evaluate motor development.
Discover nerve-muscle coordination disorders that may occur during psychomotor development.
