OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: To teach students basic information about industrial control systems and applications in the industry.
Contents of the Course Unit: Structure and nature of industrial control and automation problems, modeling of industrial processes, sensor and actuator device technologies, automation with plc, control systems architecture and design.

KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT (On successful completion of this course unit, students/learners will or will be able to)

Formulate and analyze control and automation engineering problems
Develop and design architectures of automation and control systems
Comparatively analyze alternate sensor and actuator technologies and make technology choice.
Make basic level design of electronic instrumentation and control systems.
Design feedback loops for industrial control problems.
